Katherine O’Hara is a very successful interior designer. Her business is just getting recognized, but her marriage seems to be stalling. Something just does not feel right with Craig, but when the truth comes out Kate is devastated.

Tom Owens works with the FBI as a bodyguard and relocation expert for the Witness Protection Program. His newest assignment is Katherine O’Hara now known as Elizabeth Harrison. It has been a long time since he has had feelings for a woman, but something about Kate captures his heart.

Kate’s life is turned upside down overnight. Her rocky marriage is suddenly the last thing she is worried about when it comes to her husband Craig. The fact that he is a drug dealer, and has a life that she knows nothing about has put her life in grave danger. She is forced to flee her home and her family if she wants to stay alive. Meeting Tom and having him as her protector is the only bright spot in her life. His honest and caring attitude fills her with hope, and a tingle of excitement that she has not felt in a very long time. Tom is as taken with Kate, but keeping her safe is his top priority. But can Kate ever get over the betrayal of one man in order to love another?

This is a story that raises the question; do we really know the people we are married to? Kate’s character is such a normal average person that when she discovers the truth about her husband, her shock is completely identifiable. Tom is a sweet and caring man, just the type of person Kate needs in her life. I felt the excitement and fullness to the story was somewhat flat, but the plot itself flowed nicely and was well conceived.
