Lady Francine Montfort approaches a most unusual man for his assistance. She propositions him to help her stay unwed until she can come in to her inheritance. Francine values her independence over wedding someone chosen for her by her Aunt.

Erasmus Hammond, also known as Lord Blakely, is a man of secrets. His reputation precedes him and is part of the reason Lady Francine approaches him. Erasmus would rather deal with women of ill-repute who have wild ways about them than an innocent.

Lord Blakely is surprised when Lady Francine approaches him with a proposition. He declines, but Francine is not about to be put off especially with the heat that instantly flares upon their first meeting. She alters her proposition and after much debate, and a flaming dalliance with Erasmus, he accepts the next day. He discovers the true, vile intentions of Francine’s Aunt and makes short work of stopping her. Secrets do have a way of interfering, but stubborn Francine goes to his house and demands entrance. She gets more than she bargains for but her love for Erasmus keeps her strong.

Francine and Erasmus spark off the page immediately upon meeting. It is refreshing to have a heroine who is strong and not the whiney type. Nor is she the type to let a relationship simply disappear without a fight. The characters in Ensnared by Innocence are well-rounded and believable. This book was an excellent, steamy read and I look forward to Ms. Nash’s story coming soon.

Warning: There is one male/male/female ménage scene.
