She never thought she would have something to live for after the death of her son, but nurse Raven Mooney was wrong. Taking care of Jonah has given her a life worth living again.
As far as Jonah Moore is concerned, he would rather be dead. With his wife and unborn child dead and no feeling below his waist, what is the point in living?
Raven is determined to get Jonah back on his feet, both physically and mentally. With the death of her son, and living as Chaos’ blood slave, Raven has felt empty for so long. Jonah is the first bright light in her life, and she clings to the hope that someday he can care for her. His loss is so recent and the pain so intense that living is nearly unbearable, but Raven refuses to let him quit. He tries to crawl into that deep dark hole in his heart, but she is there at every turn, bringing him back. Her strength astounds him, and her eyes fill his soul. However, he feels like his heart is being torn every time his wife Ariel comes to mind. Raven is creating a firestorm in his blood, and the conflicting emotions are pulling him apart.
This third installment of The Darkness Series is intensely intimate and emotional. Raven and Jonah take on a battle within, while their friends continue the fight with Chaos. This series is fascinating and a pleasure to read. I encourage you to read them in order, to really get a feel for their struggles and their triumphs. I will certainly look forward to Danny’s story in Ms. Stewart’s next installment of The Darkness Series.
