Faith Murphy is a professor of mathematics at St. Vincent’s College in Deerfield,
Massachusetts. Being an expert on the law of averages does not prevent her from
believing in Murphy’s Law. As it seems to have governed her life thus far. Stuck beneath
the thumb of a cruel professor who may or may not be stealing her work, Faith knows
she will never get a break. However, her love life is looking up in the form of her
neighbor’s jock brother who just might be the one for her.

Nick Rossi did not know much biology, trigonometry, or history. But he knew hockey and
he knew love; or at best, he knew how to love them and leave them.  At least he thought
he did until he and Faith shared a brief night of passion. Wounded and unable to ever
play hockey again, Nick is at loose ends.

Faith thinks it is a stroke of luck when she is called in as second replacement for a
conference in Siena, Italy.  Faith tries to forget her disastrous one night stand with the
delicious Nick. In order to concentrate on her job her in Italy. Murphy’s Law strikes again
when she becomes the number one suspect in a murder at the old monastery. Can she
prove her innocence? And should she be angry or flattered that Nick Rossi flew half way
across the world to her rescue?

I cannot say enough about the way Ms. Jennings described the countryside of Siena
interspersed seamlessly are scenes of the wonderful locale she chose for the backdrop
of this engrossing who done it. This, along with the cast of characters from the other
professors, to the cook staff at the monastery, are vividly brought to life on the pages. A
slow, simmering romance develops between the two lead characters. Leaving the
reader eager to find out both who did it and will they have their happily ever after?
