Tate Cross is a graphic designer in an unfulfilling job. What she really wants to do is teach art to children. Tate inherits a house, but knows it will need many repairs and landscaping. Recovering from a broken relationship, Tate misses sex. Her best friend Val offers her a solution that will change her life.
Nathan LeBeau owns a utility business. He dreams of starting a landscaping business, but does not have the artistic skills needed. Nathan is Native American and lives with racial prejudice. Nathan longs for a fulfilling relationship instead of sex only. His sister offers him a solution that will help him gain the art skills he needs, but is shocked when he hears all the details.
When Tate and Nathan meet for the first time, the attraction is instantaneous. However, Tate wants a sex only relationship, and Nathan wants romance. Tate cannot believe any man would not take sex when it is freely offered. When Tate and Nathan have sex, it is explosive. Both wonder if there is more to the relationship than sex. Feelings develop between them, but Nathan is keeping a major secret from Tate; a secret that when discovered will break the trust between them. She will feel betrayed. Can the trust be rebuilt?
Ms. James has written a story that will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning. The chemistry between Tate and Nathan is obvious. This book is different because usually it is the woman who wants romance and the man sex only. I loved the banter between both of them as Nathan tries to get romantic and Tate says, “Lets get down and dirty”. This book left me wanting to read more by this author.
