Taylor McKade is a divorced mother of a small son. She is working her way through college to become an accountant and working for her brother at his ranch. Before her marriage, she had a huge crush on her brother's friend, Akeem.

Akeem Abdul is the grandson of a desert sheikh, but he was born and raised in Texas and runs an extremely successful horse auction house. He has always been in love with Taylor.

When Taylor's son, Christopher, is kidnapped and held for ransom, she turns to the only man she trusts as much as her own brother. Akeem lends her the money and travels with her to the pickup point only to have everything go terribly wrong. The two have to rescue the little boy before he is killed by the thwarted kidnappers.

This story is part suspense and part erotically charged romance, and the author does a superlative job in both areas. Akeem and Taylor are both very charismatic characters with determination and grit. Little Christopher is a scene stealer. The plot is a roller coaster ride full of suspense and action, and you will find that it is over all too soon.
