Lara Saunders is a photojournalist with a secret…she can see and hear the dead. To fulfill a promise, she is documenting the history of the country’s lighthouses. She has arrived in San Diego to document the last lighthouse, however, she does not count on a matchmaking bar owner, or his unusual friend that sends her libido into overdrive.
Matthew Martinez has his own secret, one very few know. Not one to fraternize with people, Matt is astonished at both his own, and his hidden half’s acceptance of Lara. His attraction to her is very strong and he senses she is different.
When Lara and Matt meet for the first time, the sparks fly. However, each of them is wary, though for different reasons. Each thinks that no partner will accept their differences, and yet each finds both affection, acceptance, and even trust with the other. It is not long before they become very close, and even Lara’s spirits seem to like Matt. However, each is terrified to tell the other their secret. Will they be able to overcome their fears, or will they walk away from each other?
Del Fantasma: Texas Tea has many of my favorite elements when it comes to a romance. The character’s emotions and history are well laid out from the beginning, leaving the rest of the book to focus on their relationship. The lovemaking when it happens is chock full of deep and lasting emotions. The paranormal elements are well explained and make sense. I really enjoyed reading about these two dancing around each other until they finally gave in. The sexual tension is drawn out throughout the book which kept me turning the pages quickly. Quite simply this book is a keeper and has been added to my favorites list.
