When she sees strange rituals being performed and happens upon a dead body in the dungeon, she knows she must risk her life to leave or risk her eternal soul by staying. But saving her soul may mean leaving her heart behind, as Ryan continues to simultaneously frighten and captivate her.

Written is a modern Gothic style, this story layers sexual and romantic elements with danger and death. Luna Carrol puts a new twist on the classic Vampire legends, giving them a friendlier yet still creepy and dangerous aura. I felt there were a few too many manipulations and hanging questions in the story to make it flow easily for me. The supporting characters were not as fleshed out as I was hoping. But the atmosphere and overall storyline were interesting.
