Nicholas Ireland, Nick, is known as Iceman. The law enforcement officer, once Delta operator, now is a specialist in undercover work. His profession is not always easy but will do whatever the mission requires. This time he must seduce a beautiful woman.
Charity Prewitt is a librarian in the town of Parker’s Ridge. One chance meeting with Nick, and a dinner date, and she is dying to learn more about the man. She never thought love with this sexy man would lead to marriage or secrets that could endanger her life.
Nick is dedicated to his job, working profusely to catch the bad guy. If it means he must lie, kill, or even seduce, he gives it one-hundred percent. The Russian Mafia head in America must be found and Charity may be the answer. Nick’s mission is to confront Charity, even marry her to get inside Vassily Worontzoff’s home. Vassily is certain Charity is his beloved Katya. It is some charade she is playing while she lives and works in a small town. He must have her in his life again. Charity feels like her life is sort of routine until she meets Nick. He is sensual, sexy, and when he asks her to be his wife, she is thrilled. She has no idea she is part of any mission to locate an evil man responsible for lives lost or untold misery. Whether Nick allows her to enter the lions den and put herself in jeopardy may be something he refuses. When a fatality ends up causing Charity to lose the one person she loves, and secrets are exposed, are things as really as they appear?
Dangerous Secrets is a powerful read. I was impressed with the style of writing, the magnetic characters that engage and grab hold of the reader, and the intensity of this spectacular story. I like the way Charity and Nick meet then she sizes him up. Their eye contact and conversation is wonderfully crafted. The intensity of the read intrigues the reader. I kept my eyes fixed to the story afraid I would miss something. Ms. Rice weaves a fast-paced story that captivates and mesmerizes. She hooked me at the first few pages. I love the way she creates a great plot and dynamite characters.
