Dawn Eindhoven thinks she understands her world and she sees everything as either black or white. A realist by nature, she is ultimately unprepared to come face to face with a creature that is little more than legend. So when she bumps into Helios, the first vampire ever created by man, she is a bit stunned. Of course, her libido would pick that moment to wake up.
Helios has only one plan; win Dawn to their side so he can get his hands on the neutralizer that will free his people. But he does not count on Dawn or her stubbornness, even less on the effect she is going to have on him, or the love he comes to feel for her.
When Dawn proves her love for Helios by risking everything, Helios fears she is lost to him forever. Leaving any hope of salvation for himself behind, he goes after those who would harm Dawn with rage and vengeance in his heart, even going so far as to forsake his own life. Will they and their love survive, or will those that have held the power for centuries win?
Damnation rocks! I read it in one sitting and could not stop reading until I had read the final page and the culmination. Dark and gritty, Ms. Gray weaves a realistic world that could easily be our future. I adored Dawn’s smart mouth, quick brain, and humor. The lovemaking is hot, sensual, and erotic, and this reviewer spent several minutes fanning herself between scenes. The love that Dawn and Helios have and how it rocks, as well as changes, both their worlds makes this book a keeper! I highly recommend this book to everyone, and I for one will be greatly looking forward to more books from this author.
