Investigative reporter Georgie Langley is used to digging deep for a story. She works for a small magazine and lives to expose frauds and criminals; to solve mysteries and find the truth. When her celebrity sister jets off and marries a man with ties to the drug underworld, Georgie is shocked. Then April and Juan are murdered and Georgie’s journalism skills are put to the test.

Steve is Georgie’s boss and best mate, and has been pining for his star reporter for quite some time. Steve is concerned for Georgie’s safety after she begins investigating her adopted sister’s murder. When she becomes involved with Juan’s charismatic and wealthy brother, Steve knows she may be in danger.

Against the advice of the men around her, Georgie insists on unraveling the mystery of April’s birth and death. The vast estate where the killings took place is becoming a second home to her, its owner an older gentleman with a suspicious past who befriends the reporter. Soon more people start dropping and Georgie is threatened. What does this man know about the crimes and how does it connect with a murder on the estate 20 years ago?

‘Daddy Loves Belinda’ has the fell of a great BBC suspense thriller. I had a great time trying to figure out just who-done-it, the writer throwing clues down to pave a twisted and scenic road to the surprising finish. Even finding out the killers identity was only half the fun, the rest being the tying up of the many intriguing ribbons Anne Sole winds around the story. ‘Daddy Loves Belinda’ is a story to be savored with a warm blanket and a good cup of tea.
