They are gone; his mother is in an asylum, his father and finally his stepbrother are dead, but the guilt is something Devon Masters will never be free of. Falcon Hill will hold onto the ghosts of the past like the dark, oppressive, mausoleum that it is, and Devon will be eternally thankful that Haley is finally safe.
Ten years ago Haley had her innocence stripped from her in the vilest of acts, and had it not been for Dev, she would surely have curled up and died. He was her savior, and now it is time to reclaim him as her husband.
The world is a much better place without Gavin Killian in it, but Devon will never forgive himself for his complicity in Gavin’s torturous games. Devon was blackmailed into being the clean-up crew for his stepbrother’s victims, but it was Haley who ripped his world apart. He would give his life never to have Haley suffer like she did at Gavin’s hand, and keeping her away from Falcon Hill is paramount to her safety. Haley is coming back to Falcon Hill, and is not going to take no for an answer; Devon has been imprisoned by the curse of his family long enough. It is time for him to live and love.
Cruel Memories packs a powerful punch with its emotionally gut-wrenching tale of guilt and heartache. Devon is a ticking bomb just waiting to self-destruct, and the reader rides that razor’s edge right along with him. Haley is his only salvation, and you can feel the power of her love as she tries to save him from himself. The dark and disturbing elements of this story only heighten its appeal, and I would like to see them completely explored.
