Joanna Eastman is a research scientist by day and a vampire enthusiast by night. Unlike most of her role-playing friends online, Joanna actually thinks vampires might exist. Going beyond simply role playing online, Joanna has done in depth research on the historical possibilities of vampires being real.
Anton Mahler is the real thing, a true vampire. He attends vampire role playing functions to help alleviate the boredom he feels after centuries of being alone.
When Joanna spots Anton across a crowded ballroom, she is instantly intrigued by his good looks and his uncanny resemblance to a man she has been having erotic bloody dreams of. Much to her delight he crosses the room almost immediately upon seeing her and quickly chases away her friend so he can have her all to himself. Anton recognizes her soul as that of someone he once knew and loved. It then becomes a race to discover their mutual past and a time of decisions for Joanna, for she must make a choice to either become vampire, or to stay human and possibly lose Anton forever.
This book was exceptional. The author has a flair for weaving a story which successfully combines realistic vampire world building with reincarnation. The historical information was realistic and gave the appearance of having been well researched. The love scenes were sensual and loving without being too bloody. A truly excellent addition to the vampire romance genre!
