Victoria Moore buys the Circle Cat ranch hoping to make it the best dude ranch in Arizona. Tired of living in her father’s shadow, the man who owns Moore Construction, she hopes to stand on her own.
Lang Thompson wants to forget his failed marriage and just buy a ranch. He is finished with commitment and marriage. When he meets the lovely woman who bought the ranch he wanted, she has marriage written all over her.
Victoria is tired of her overprotective and bossy father. By purchasing the ranch, she wants to prove she is capable of taking care of matters. The ranch came with Hank, a hired hand, but she needs another helper. Lang has had two many broken dreams and empty wallets. He needs a job with no woman in his life. One woman already left his heart scarred. When he accidentally backs into a part of Victoria’s barn, he sets out to repair it and stays when offered a job. He never imagined a sexy woman, buying the ranch he wanted, then stealing his heart. Can two people who are so against marriage find a way of finding that one commitment?
Okay, I love cowboys and Arizona, so Cowboy for Hire really captured my heart. I love the dialogue and the way the chemistry works between Victoria and Lang. Their relationship springs to life and leaps into the reader’s heart. Isabelle Drake is a great storyteller. She allows the reader to envision the backdrop of the ranch, and blends in all the elements that make this read outstanding. I like the way she allows Victoria to work out matters with her father. By blending two hard-headed people together, like Victoria, and Lang, she allows their hearts to open to the other, making this an even greater page-turner.
