Carolyn knows that Daniel has had many affairs and believes him to be shallow. What she learns the night of the masquerade starts doubts forming. Daniel wonders if his beautiful Carolyn realizes it is him behind the mask when he kisses her and he vows the next morning to let her know. But as they both grow closer to realizing there is more to this than an affair, it is quite possible that Carolyn's life may hang in the balance as Daniel's past catches up with him.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a little slow in the first two or three chapters but it did pick up. The character of Daniel is definitely an alpha male but not overly so which is refreshing. Carolyn is strong but has her weak points which works well for the story. The secondary characters simply add to the life of the story and makes the book a great read. Ms. D'Alessandro has won me as a reader.
