Susanna Talbot is the heir to her father's ranch but only if she marries the boy her father has chosen for her. Connor disappeared from Circle Star thirteen years ago and blamed Susanna. Can she find him, will he agree to marry her or will he abandon both her and the ranch to Burt Hartman, a ruthless neighbor who will stop at nothing to have what he wants?
Connor McGregor left Circle Star thirteen years ago after kissing the boss' daughter. When he thought Susanna had told her father, he ran from the ranch to avoid being asked to leave. Now that Susanna has found him can he trust her? Does he want to go back and face what he once lost?
Can you overcome childhood fears and misunderstandings? Susanna is a strong and courageous character who fights for what she wants, her father's ranch and Connor. Connor needs a metaphorical boot up his sexy cowboy butt, but when he finally decides that life has to go on he becomes a strong and lovable character. They soon realize that the only way to keep the ranch is to work together.
This is the type of book you just do not put down until it is finished. The reader will find themselves intrigued by Susanna's antics and laughing at the lengths she is willing to go to gain what she wants. Not only has Miss March managed to create believable main characters but the secondary ones make the story work. Some of the best of these are a slimy lawyer and a murdering neighbor. This book is a clever mix of romance and the hard life on a ranch. I look forward to more of Miss March's books.
