Charlotte Avery is a dedicated woman. She works diligently at her job and, looking at her boss’s kids all the time, would like to have kids of her own someday. Her career is her life, so relationships just have not happened for her. She has to make a choice; stay where she is and hurt her heart everyday, or leave and embrace something new.

Jonathan Wanamaker has a successful career, a loving wife and children, and a wonderful assistant to help him with everything. He depends on her more than he thinks. Charlotte is an assistant not only to his business, but also to his family. His world will fall apart without her around, but will he be able to carry on like normal, or will he feel that something is missing?

Charlotte can no longer be around someone for whom she has feelings. Jonathan has been the best boss, but she feels like such a traitor. She is not sure what to do about getting money in and so decides to put to paper what she has been telling for so long. Deciding on who to have publish it is another matter all together. She has heard stories about Marc Holloman. She just needs contacts to get started and she can only think of him. Now she has to figure out how to deal with getting what she wants even if she cannot have it.

Choice Makers, at times, is rather confusing. I understand how Charlotte feels when she needs a change, yet she never truly stands up for herself and makes some disastrous mistakes. Forgiveness is important and it is not easy to attain in this story. Sometimes the story falls a little flat and too much time passes before things get better in my opinion. The ending was wonderful but a little too late. Emotions run high and some things never get settled. I kept going back and forth on whether I liked this story or not, and things just were too slow for my taste. There is a balance that is missing and I felt a little let down even. I know people are not perfect, but I kept wishing that Charlotte would do more for herself and fight than let feelings run her life.
