Renèe Evans moved on with her life. Despite a family tragedy that happened when she
was young, she became a success. When she finds that she has inherited her
grandfather’s estate; the term you can never go home again is, unfortunately, proved
untrue for her.

Warren Bailey, Jr. works as a carpenter for his short-tempered father until he just cannot
take it any more.  He jumps at the chance to work for the beautiful new owner of the old
Duryea place, hoping he will get closer to her in other ways as well.

Renèe Evans moves into her grandfather’s old estate on a dark and stormy night.  She
refuses to give up, even though a codicil in his will prevents her from spending any
money except on the house and grounds.  What her grandfather did not take into
account was that, as a lawyer, Renèe can find any loophole, no matter how small.
Thankfully, one of them is large enough to admit Warren, the hot young carpenter who
agrees to help her renovate the house.  Fortunately, he is not scared away by two
ghosts that may be haunting the house at the end of Cherry Hill Lane.

The haunting mystery of this book was very intriguing and the end highly satisfactory.
The relationship between the hero and heroine switches between hot and cold very
often, sometimes for no reason that I could tell. Unfortunately, a few of the scenes in the
book were very vague, and I had to reread to see what I had missed.
