Jennifer Miller is excited about her new job, but does not know quite what to expect. Hearing about this job is the best thing that has happened to Jennifer in a while. She has a heart full of compassion and is very hard working too. She is a little apprehensive when she shows up at the huge castle. Thrilled with the opportunity to work with the Conde, she hopes it turns out to be a good situation since the Conde will eventually be running his village.

Antonio does not care for his title. He much prefers being a writer and pursuing that passion. He broke up with his girlfriend recently and is not looking for another. His interfering mother and his housekeeper are upsetting him on a regular basis and he wonders what it will take to get them to stop.

When they begin working together, it goes very well. Almost too well, Jennifer thinks. But when the Conde asks her to pretend to be engaged to him, she is not sure what to do. Will she be able to go through with it? What will happen when she goes to visit her friend in Budapest?

Men have one idea in their heads about love and women have another. This book shows that very clearly. Jennifer must learn to express herself clearly while Antonio needs to let himself go when he speaks. He may be a wonderful writer, but talking about intimate matters is not his best thing. Ms. Hofman truly shows how well a relationship can be going but still be incomplete. The journey that Jennifer and Antonio take is one full of passion, lessons, and love.
