Gabi is an angel warrior and healer. Her mate is the archangel Abdiel and she loves him very much. She is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the demon hoards from destroying heaven and earth.
Abdiel is an archangel who has known and experienced hell first hand. Like Gabi, he is fully dedicated to his angel brethren and the humans.
When Gabi uses her healing power to return Abdiel's little sister Rachael to health, she dies. Fortunately for him, Rachael has an idea that allows both her and Cam, another angel warrior, to bring Gabi back to life. Not long after this, demons plot to capture Abdiel and Cam. They succeed and take the two angels to hell to be tortured, even going so far as to try and turn Cam into one of them. Meanwhile, Gabi and Rachael work out a daring plan to get them back, but will the two angel warriors they love be the same as they were before capture, or will they be forever changed in ways that may be irreversible?
Captive Angels is a good read about the ongoing fight between good and evil. The author does a great job in portraying this fight. The world building is interesting, and the descriptions of both heaven and hell are well thought out and highly descriptive. I really enjoyed reading about the different relationships between the angels. While I enjoyed Captive Angels, it is clearly the second in a series and as such I had a difficult time following the storyline at first because I had not read the first book in the series. Still, if you enjoy books about the enduring power of love and the fight between good and evil, then you definitely want to check out Captive Angels.
