Futuristic Science Fiction

Captain Victoria Stone knows that her ship cannot fly much longer. It was damaged and she and her co-pilot desperately need a place to land. Unfortunately, the nearest planet is Dradaen. Dradaen is the last place she wants to go because of who she will find there. Someone she hoped never to see again, but she knows she has no choice.
Cor Kenrie cannot believe it when Tory Stone appears on his doorstep. He has not thought about her in years. When they were both cadets they had a forbidden affair. He got caught and was expelled, while Tory managed to escape unscathed. Afterwards he pushed her away because letting her think he blamed her for what happened was easier than telling her the truth.
What Cor does not know is that although she kept putting it off, Tory has orders to find out what Cor and his father have uncovered on Draedan. However, his father refuses to reveal his great discovery and this causes tension between the former lovers. Even though Tory and Cor are at odds, they both feel the intense desire that still burns between them.
I love science fiction. There is something about the idea of flying through space and far off planets that I find fascinating, and if there is romance mixed in, even better. Buried Passions by Ms. Burns is a great example of why I love this genre. Tory is a strong woman who is used to being in command and who is not afraid to go after what she wants. The plot has many interesting twists and unexpected turns that kept me guessing. I highly recommend this novel.
