Tanya Harris has always had a dream of writing a movie, but put her family first. Her agent has called with an offer from a well-known producer for her to write a movie script. Since she will have to be away from her family for months, she is willing to turn the offer down, but her husband Peter encourages her to give it a try. She feels guilty for leaving her daughters during their senior year, but promises to come back as often as she can.

Peter Harris is a successful lawyer and loves what he is doing. He recognizes that this may be the fulfillment of Tanya's dream and is concerned about what could happen to their marriage if she gets a taste of living wealthy. Although he feels he cannot hold her back, he wonders if he is doing the right thing by encouraging her.

Tanya is hesitant about leaving her family for nine months. It is something she has never thought she would do. But when her agent calls to say that this producer wants only her to write the movie, she talks it over with her husband. He keeps telling her to go for it and Tanya agrees to do so, not realizing the challenges, hardships, and length of time she will spend away from her family or the toll it will take on everyone. One picture leads to another; she is swept away by her success and tries to balance it all with her family.

Ms. Steel has been one of my favorite authors for a long time. This book is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Although at times it seems somewhat predictable, at the end she pulls off a surprise that the reader cannot see coming. Tanya is pursuing a dream that she never thought possible with people who want to see her do well. Yet the glitz and glamour overpower her at times. I was kept wondering how Tanya would get through and adjust to it all. She is a strong woman but this is a completely new experience for her and one that she can only hope will not create family problems.
