According to legend, the dragons who have been gone for thousands of years will only return under the command of the chosen one, the Negh, who bears the mark of the seven stars. To the rage of the Khahl, the rival tribe of the Oriat bore a child with the mark who will one day wield the power to lead the dragons back. This child, Temuchin, saw a vision of “the golden falcon” on a ship that is meant to help him in his quest to find the dragons.
Captain Aedhir Fainne leads his ship, a’Maorga, along with her crew, from Tiralainn heading toward Morthir. Also on this ship is a strange passenger, an elf named Rhyden Fabhcun. The crew of the a’Maorga is very suspicious and it only gets worse when a massive storm hits and some of the crew is lost. The injured ship struggles to Capua, where prejudice takes a very dangerous turn for the elf.
When the Oriat finds the falcon, the Khahl will do whatever they must to overtake them. In the meantime, Captain Fainne must try to save his friend before it is too late. Also, an important piece of his past has followed him, which he has yet to discover.
Ms. Reinke has continued her fantastic saga of Tiralainn. Although the dragons have not actually made an appearance yet, there are still four more books in the series to come. Ms. Reinke’s writing style is brilliant as she flawlessly weaves enchanting foreign languages throughout the dialogue of her amazing characters. You are taken on an exciting ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. Complete with diverse races of people, prophecies, and thousands of years of history, Ms. Reinke has created the feel of an exciting legendary chronicle. Book of Dragons, Volume One contains all the qualities of great fantasy; murder, magic, danger, and intrigue.
