Frank Corso is a rogue journalist turned bestselling author. No longer the investigative news reporter he devotes his time to writing true crime. When his new publisher advances him millions for his next book involving a bank robbery, Frank learns it goes much deeper.
Carl Letzo appears to be a pretty nice guy, as a newspaper reporter even though he did have grooming problems.
Corso arrives at the airport, surprised that Carl is there to offer him a ride. Thanks to his publicist, he forewarned Carl he was arriving. It appears that bodies have piled up with a series of deadly bank robbers in the L.A. area. It is so extensive, federal agents have been called in. Corso believes it is more ominous then what the agents are saying. This is one story he tells his publisher he does not wish to hang around and research. But that is only his first problem. Some of the town officials try to discourage his stay. Complications arise when he has a hair-raising car accident, then his hotel room is trashed. The FBI decides to make him a part of their investigation which makes the case more dangerous for Corso. He has to find answers and as a newspaper reporter, Carl wants a story.
Blown Away is a non-stop roller-coaster ride full of thrills and riveting excitement. Not only is it explosive but gritty and sometimes a bit traumatic. G. M. Ford serves up a dynamite read that really blows the reader away. He weaves an action-packed tale and gripping scenes that leaves the reader in awe. This is the first book I have read by G.M. Ford and I fell in love with his style of writing. He fashions Frank as a believable hero, a compassionate man, and stories that are right out of the headlines. The abundance of secondary characters lead the reader into a road filled with spellbinding suspense.
