Dani Justice has always known she is different from other folks. She does her best not to let it hold her back, but that is not easy to do in her small hometown. People know too much about her, so she needs to find another way to use her dream walking talents so that she does not damage either her reputation, or that of her sister. The knowledge that she is risking her reputation does not keep her from helping people, but she wishes she could have more dreams about happy things. Her sister, Paris, keeps her grounded but will this time cost them both?
Noah Bishop has had tough cases before, but now he has a powerful man pressuring him, and things will be different. He does not deal well with pressure and this is especially true when he must explain everything he does. His abilities keep him busy amid the chaos surrounding him. He needs all the help he can get to solve this case. Dani and Paris seem to be just the ones to help. Will he solve the case or is he done for?
A hunter is out there and Dani gets more clues to the puzzle in her dreams. She tries to solve it alone, but her sister pushes her to let them dream walk together. Time is running out for everyone involved. When a Senator feels he needs to step in, things go from bad to worse. Dani does not want to get involved, but her dreams keep repeating themselves. She has to tell someone. Noah and his wife Miranda show up and things get even more complicated. They help her see things more clearly and listen to her. Dani can see the end, but she cannot see who survives the game they are playing. She needs to know more, but will more be enough?
Ms. Hooper writes fantastic suspense. I was enthralled from the beginning. These characters have depth and are very believable. I am impressed, not only with how well the characters work together to solve the case, but the way they worked together in all aspects of the story. The book's ending has me anxiously waiting to see what happens in the next book. Dani is a character that I cannot get enough of and I can see her growing even more in future books.
