Grace Gilder and her brother Sebastian run and own a well-established inn on the pilgrim road to Audicacia. Grace is content with her life and happy with how things are going. A few days before a major holiday three strangers show up at the inn changing Grace and her brother’s lives forever.
Finn Equain has a fascination with the occult. He has been secretly studying about Roicans or Bloodletters. On the trip to Audicacia with his friend Liam and his sister Nessa he meets Grace and Sebastian Gilder at their inn where the trio are staying while visiting Audicacia.
The group of five become friends. Grace and Finn discover over several encounters that they are attracted to each other. At the same time Sebastian is also attracted to Nessa. But there are secrets that Finn and his companions are keeping from Grace and her brother, secrets that could turn Grace and Sebastian away from Finn and Nessa forever. Can Finn and Nessa risk everything by letting Grace and Sebastian in on their secrets or will they have to lose the people they are starting to care about?
The story of Bloodchained has a fresh and unique twist to the whole vampire genre of romance stories. The five main characters in this story are all well written and so unlike each other that you really find their interaction with each other at times moving, and at times amusing. This is a nice story to read on lonely nights when you are in the mood for romance mixed with a little suspense. The over all storyline was good, but I found the bouncing back and forth between current and past events a bit tedious. Over all still a good read and I would recommend it.
