Sabina Comti is a famous singer and guardian of the Power amulet. Victoria Price is after it and will stop at nothing to get it. Sabina must be constantly alert to keep herself and her sisters safe.
Adam Morelly is a lawyer and the nephew of Johnny Morelly. His uncle wants him take over the family business, but he is not interested. He is interested in the beautiful Sabina and is determined to find out who wants her dead and why.
The amulet of Power is a black opal. The person who holds it can either do great harm or great good. Victoria Price is determined to get control of the amulet and the other three and the very handsome Adam for good measure. Sabina, Bella, and Maureen have their work cut out for them to keep each other and Adam safe from the madwoman.
Even though this is the third of the series, it stands alone very well. Though I want to read the previous books, it is not because I am missing anything in this story, but because this story is so well done I want to read more. Sabina is strong, talented and beautiful and perfect for Adam. Adam's connection with his mobster uncle is a fly in the ointment between the two as is Victoria's attraction to him, adding some tension and doubt to the relationship. Victoria is wonderfully evil and insane; I loved her black widow get up. Bella and Maureen, though not blood sisters to Sabina, are every bit as close and protective. The author has painted very vivid pictures of all the characters and settings, including Victoria's many disguises. The story line is full of romance and danger and I did not put it down until the very last word; it looks like there is more fun to come.
