Anton is a well-to-do musician and werewolf. He is the alpha of his pack, though he has for years allowed the alpha female to run it. He does not care for the violence and wildness that being a werewolf sometimes calls for.

Greg is a chef, and Anton’s mate. He was recently turned into a werewolf against his will.

When Jackson, Anton’s friend and butler, is kidnapped by a rival pack, Anton wants nothing more than for him and his mate, Greg, to go and find him. However, he must wait while Andrea, his pack’s alpha female, and a police officer does what she can to find him first. Anton’s enemy is shrewd and will pull every dirty trick he thinks he must to get Anton’s territory, including stealing and torturing those dear to him as well as kidnapping a werewolf from a far away clan and forcing him to do dark magic for him. It is all he can do to help his mate adjust to being a werewolf and not go crazy worrying about his friend. Whether Anton likes it or not, war is brewing, the question is -- what choices will he make? Will he abandon his pack or will he stay and fight for all of them?

Bitten is a decidedly fresh outlook on the whole werewolf thing. The author does a great job with world building, and I especially liked the added tribal and shamanic aspects that were added to the story. I also liked the back story of Jackson and Nathan and felt that it really gave added depth to the story. While the story is clearly fiction, the characters and their world is still very realistic. This is a wonderful story that I am more than happy to recommend, and I am looking forward to many more such stories from this author!
