Allana is afraid to let anyone close to her, including her own family. Since high school, everyone who she fell in love with died a horrible death.
Tom is fascinated by the office “Ice Queen” Allana, and is determined to get to know her better, even if it kills him.
The spirit of Dracula is searching for his wife over the centuries and has found her in Allana. Though he cannot be with her physically, he is determined that no one else will have her. Tom is willing to fight the spirit of the warlord for Allana.
This story started out really well. Allana’s past experiences and her isolated present make for some fascinating reading. I also enjoyed the story of Vlad (Dracula) and his wife, and his progressive madness. The characters are well written and vivid. The only part that I was disappointed in was the ending. I cannot say why without giving anything away other than it was a little too abrupt.
