Keelan wakes up in another time after having been asleep for years. Now he is on a mission to find the treasure taken from his father and make things right again. But being beaten up was not on the agenda. Now that he is within reach of his goal, he will stop at nothing to get what he came for, not even letting a bonny lass distract him.

Charity is looking for the treasure as well. When Keelan is brought to the house, she cares for him and tends to his wounds. But the more she learns about him, the more puzzled she is about him. She is determined to find the real reason behind his appearance and hopes she can resist his looks and his charms.

Keelan has found himself in a bad situation but Charity makes it better. They are drawn to each other and long to keep each other safe. But at the rate things are going, that will not happen for a while. Once Keelan has healed, he and Charity end up running for their very lives from a man who is pure evil. Every time they believe they have gotten ahead, they end up facing off with Chetfield and his band of thugs. Will they be able to right the wrongs of the past or will they both sacrifice their lives to keep the other safe?

This story twists and turns from the very start. Everything has a meaning and it is up to the reader to piece it together. I liked the fact that nothing was as it seemed and it kept me guessing throughout the book. It was a slow build up to the final outcome but it makes for a good read. I was thrilled with Keelan as he is not your normal Highlander. Charity is a truly amazing character and will have you laughing at her antics. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Greiman's books and urge you to do so as well.
