Page Anderson was your typical spoiled rich girl. She grew up in Boston and never knew a day of work. Her life was turned up side down when she ended up pregnant and the father denied the baby. So she answered an ad for a logging company camp cook. She left everything she knew to try and make a life for her and her child.

Henry Butler Cross was in charge of the Morgan Lumber Companies cutting operation. He was desperate for a new camp cook. But he was shocked when the widow he hired turned out to be Page Anderson. The only problem was one hundred lonely men and one very beautiful woman. Butler knew Page had to leave the logging camp and by morning.

Page Anderson was running away from her problems, and boy did she have problems. She was pregnant and single. Butler Cross had a secret one he wanted to never let anyone find out about. He was deaf from an accident during the civil war. Together they made fire and sparks. When they were not fighting they were kissing. But neither of them could ever seem to get around to being honest with each other about their feelings.

What a great book this was. I was frustrated ever time the main characters denied their feelings for each other. It had me crying when Page lost her baby, and had me laughing and cheering when they finally ended up together. Nancy Henderson did a wonderful job of writing this book about second chances. I started reading this book and was just sucked right in to the story. This book was absolutely worth reading.
