Katherine ‘Kit’ Snow inherited a diner on the ground floor of Sinclair Tower. Her tendency to rush in where angels fear to tread attracts the attentions of her landlord, and that lands her in hot water.

Damon Sinclair is rumored to be mad, brilliant, a monster, or a combination of all three. As long as those rumors keep people away, he likes it.

When Kit saves Damon’s housekeeper from a mugging, he tries to pay her, but she only wants answers he is not ready to give. He has been hiding since the death of his wife after a fire that burned him and took Kit’s parents' lives as well. However, this does not stop his stubborn downstairs neighbor from bearding the so-called beast in his lair to find out what she wants to know. She hounds him until he comes down from his tower and sees that something more dangerous than secret stealing is going on around him. Someone is out for his life and they will not let anyone stand in their way until they have it.

A feisty heroine combined with a broody hero is always a winner. You will be shocked at just who the bad guy is. The action and suspense are drawn out just right without making you wait too long. I also liked the way the writer did the villain’s point of view without telling me who it was. The romance between Kit and Damon was beautifully done; sweet, but with chemistry and tension that practically leapt off the page. If you like romantic suspense, pick up The Beast in the Tower; you will be glad you did.
