An older man, Bryan, is the owner of Baker’s Dozen, a chocolate shop in California. After losing his partner, Alan, Bryan works hard to make the perfect chocolates for people he has yet to meet.
James is Bryan’s assistant at Baker’s Dozen. He watches and learns from Bryan, but there is something a little more special about James. Something Bryan refuses to see.
This is a story about love. Whether the couples are finding it for the first time or rediscovering each other, Bryan and James have a hand in bringing couples together. Bryan is a man with a gift, the gift of seeing into the future. He is able to tell who will be wanting his chocolates and what kind they will need. The customer does not always get what they want, but they do always like what they get.
This book is thirteen chapters of decadent, sinful sensuality. It is a story of men, love and chocolate. The magical element to this tale is rich and delightful. I caught myself laughing and crying with the various couples. The emotional side of this book is wonderful. I was truly sad to see it come to an end. Ms. Coleman spins a story as rich and enticing as the chocolate Bryan and James create. My only complaint is the book does not come with a box of these chocolates.
