What most people do not know about Jason Peterson is that he figuratively has a poet's soul in a hockey player's body. He tries to fix and save every helpless damsel in distress. When a jealous coworker tries to take him out, it is Jason who is saved by a damsel. Not sure of his role in this relationship, he forges ahead with a woman who is definitely not helpless.
Christina Mackey loves the game of hockey but has a problem with the players. Her hockey idol, Jason, gets past her defenses and changes the way she views these professional athletes. As she continues to fall harder for Jason, Christina has to hope that she will not make the same mistake she did last time with a different hockey player.
As Christina and Jason continue to explore their budding relationship, an ex-girlfriend comes into the picture. Trying to sabotage their growing love for each other, she will stop at nothing to tear these two lovers apart. When a secret from Jason's past is revealed, it could mean the end of their relationship.
With a wonderful hero and heroine and a wicked villain, Ms. Cormier keeps you in suspense from beginning to end. A very well written and entertaining book, I found myself cheering for the lovers and hoping everything would work out. The only part I had a hard time with was it seemed that the end of the villain's story took too long, but the ending was quite sweet and wonderful. It starts off with a seat of your pants introduction and you just have to hang on for the ride of a great read!
