Bec Monahan is a nurse with a desire to better the lives of children. Having suffered through a horrific childhood, she is determined that she make the lives of other children better.
Dr. Tom Bracken is fortunate to have been adopted by a very loving and supportive family, but has always felt a part of him missing. He works in Vietnam both to find his birth mother and to make things better for the people.
While working for an overseas healthcare agency in Vietnam, a dedicated nurse and a doctor born in the country and raised in Australia find love and peace among the people far from home.
This is a very good love story with likable main characters and an interesting location. The author does a good job of describing a place that not many of us are familiar with, and the two main characters’ profession leads them into some difficult and dangerous situations as they fall in love. Bec’s history and how she overcame it makes Tom look a bit spoiled, but his determination to find his birth mother has taken over his life and she makes him think a bit. As usual, the relationship has ups and downs and these are an integral part of the story. This is a fast read and very entertaining.
