Paranormal Historical Romance
Rating: 5 Cups

Sarah Granger is a governess for two small girls for a Captain Barstow. When word comes around that the Captain has died at sea, and his brother would be taking the estate, Sarah is concerned about what would happen to the girls, as their mother was dead and of course about her own job and home. Sarah had only a few weeks to think about it when a handsome Scot, Brogan Maclochlainn is washed ashore. Not knowing what else to do, Sarah and the girls take him into their home to heal.

Brogan Maclochlainn is a Druzai from Corauain in the year 981. Brogan is going to the future to 1813 to find the Brigha-stone to help fight the evil sorceress that escaped and killed his father. But once in 1813, Brogan has a hard time remembering why he is there because of a beautiful woman, Sarah. Brogan knows better than to get involved with this type of human, and tries to stay away from her, but the more he knows about Sarah the harder it is.

Brogan finds an old dragon still protecting the castle, and gets help from him as much as possible. But finding the brigha-stone is harder than he thought. He goes to the ruins of the old castle and even the caves but still no luck. Brogan knows he has to find it before the evil sorceress does, but all he can find is a puzzle written in the stones. Sarah has never been attracted to a man like she is to Brogan, but Sarah knows once he finds what he is looking for he will leave. Little did either know that what Brogan searches for and needes is closer than either know.

This is a spectacular romance that is really unique and exceptionally told. Ms. Maguire took a historical and gave it colorful twist, with magic and an evil sorceress; this story captures your attention from the very first page. Excellent characters play out this tale in such an amazing way, you feel as if you are right there. Brogan is absolutely the alpha male we all love, and Sarah is the strong fighter we all would like to be like. Strong sexual tension and steamy love scenes complete this wonderful tale. This is the first in Ms. Maguire’s series, and this reader is looking forward to the rest.
