Avery and Mike Montgomery were your typical hard working, run of the mill kind of people. They had each other, their daughter, and life was good. That is, until their daughter ran away and life as they knew it changed forever. Now that she is back, can they mend what is broken?
Fiona Montgomery was a classic headstrong teenager when she decided to leave home with her boyfriend, alienating her parents and not realizing what was on the horizon for her. Back in town, can she forgive, as well as mend, things with her parents? And what of her new baby? Can she be a good mom herself?
Fiona is now a few years older, but damage has been done to all of them. Avery wants her close relationship with her daughter back. Mike wishes it never happened, but he cannot let go of his anger. Fiona needs to prove to herself, as well as to her parents, that she can make it on her own. She realizes she made mistakes too.
I cannot sing the praises of this book enough. Every parent who has a teenager should read this book. It touches on the emotions that we all felt as a teenager, and those of the parent as well. This is a heartwarming story with characters that just come alive as you read. You will want to make time for this book.
