Jonathan Meerier, tired of working for his father, is trying to determine what he wants to do with his life. He wants to be independent of his family and do something meaningful, but is not yet sure what that could be. A job abroad may be what finally sets him free.

Arielle is as frustrated with her life as Jonathan is with his. She knows her career as a model could be over soon, but is not sure what to do next. Her past haunts her and the times she has had with men have left her disgruntled. Will Jonathan be like all the rest of the men in her life?

Going to France to teach English seems like a good idea in the beginning. Jonathan's father disapproves but thinks this will give Jonathan a chance to settle down, so Jonathan is able to go. When Jonathan meets Arielle, he is blinded by her beauty and intelligence and decides to follow the advice given to him with regard to Arielle. The one thing that stands between them is the blue card she has to fill out after every meeting. He is not sure how to get past that because the discussions they have make him to want to know her at a deeper level. Arielle is constantly surprised at the things Jonathan says and how they are able to talk so freely. It becomes more than just English lessons between them. Along the way, Jonathan meets two other French men who him advice as well. Jonathan is not sure who to listen to or whether he should just follow his heart.

The dance that men and women share is truly complex. Mr. Traylor presents this very well. The story pulled me into it and I could not stop reading. Arielle and Jonathan want the same things from life but learning how to make it work, since feelings can get hurt and signals can be crossed is difficult. Both of them, through their discussions, just need to see behind what they are saying. I cried and laughed at the journey these two wonderful characters took. This is one book I highly recommend; not only because it is written by a man writes but also, because anyone can learn something it. To me, a lot that is written rings true. I am impressed and cannot wait to see what this author writes in the future.
