Amy is a computer whiz. She rescues data from damaged hard drives. She lives the life of a hermit with her parrot Orn’ry. She has always felt different because she sees auras.
Lucas is a successful artist. He also has the power to visit people in their dreams. This power can be good or bad, depending on what he does in those dreams.
The Offspring are the product of an experiment on their parents. The government tried to enhance the psychic abilities of certain government employees. The experiment was a miserable failure since the drug enhanced their abilities, but drove them mad. Most of them either committed suicide or were killed, but they left children behind.
This is a very suspenseful story with great characters and a gripping plot. Amy has been isolated for most of her life as have the other Offspring. Her love life consists of a shadowy man who visits her in her dreams. Her parrot is a great character and I enjoyed her hobby of making sculpture of extra computer parts. Lucas is a very charismatic character if a little too noble for his own good, he is a perfect counterpart to his friend Eric, who is overbearing and abrasive. I felt a little sorry for Petra, her brother downplays her abilities, and she is in love with Lucas who loves Amy. Darkwell is completely evil and a little bit insane; he is willing to do anything to keep his project alive. This looks to be the start of a really good series, the Darkwell character looks like he wants to chase down each and every one of the Offspring, so we have a lot more characters and stories coming in the future.
