Tessa Garrett has had it with men, especially with her cheating boyfriend. Finding out her best girlfriend has been sleeping with him was the last straw. She was ready to escape and go somewhere on a vacation. Tessa has always dreamed of a castle since she was a child, drawing it from the memory of her dreams. Her ex-best friend has found her castle online and booked a trip for her to Hadley Castle in England. Once there to tour the castle Tessa was injured and throw back in time to the thirteenth Century.

Eric Bartholomew, Lord Hadley of Hadley Castle in England, finds Tessa unconcious in his estate and is intrigued. In the 13th century, this is a rare occurance. He took her under his protection and and helped restore her to health. They immediately click and can feel an instant attraction, but he is betrothed to another.

Tessa is really Theresa Brookshire and the childhood friend of Eric that was assumed dead when she went missing at age five. Unfortunately the jealous soon to be bride happens to be the younger sister of Tessa so this is filled with rivalry, intrigue, kidnapping and family reunions, I was happy to note that love still prevails after all. I love time travel stories and this is one of the better ones. Unconventional and unique, it has a little bit of everything, including returning to the future, achieving it by traveling back in time. This intriguing story kept me reading, something unexpected happened on nearly every page.
