Carrie Metzer has her life just the way she wants it, well almost. But a month helping her grandmother at the pet shelter was not going to be fun. The biggest problem is she does not like dogs or cats for that matter. Carrie’s life soon changes when she meets her first customers at the shelter.
After a disastrous marriage and a difficult divorce, Seth Harborn and his children are starting a new life. He hopes to be able to give them everything, fun, laughter, and of course a puppy. At the local pet shelter, Seth meets the most amazing and aggravating woman he has ever had the pleasure to meet.
Carrie decided a long time ago that children were not for her. When she meets Seth and his children, she falls hard and fast but can she overcome her fears and beliefs? Seth has his own fears to deal with. One mother has already left his children, should he take the risk a second one will do the same.
This is an amazing pair, madly in-love, so afraid of themselves and each other it is fun to watch how their relationship builds. As Carrie’s childhood still affects her life; it is difficult to see how she could overcome her fears. Her biggest obstacle is herself. It surprised me how many times she could stop herself from finding happiness. Brenna wants Carrie in her life, and I had great fun trying to guess how, between them Brenna and Seth will once again trick Carrie into visiting. Seth is a wonderful father. It takes a special sort of man to take on two children under five years old as a single man. Ms Simon has created a wonderful tale of sparkling characters and bouncing support from very special children anyone would be proud to call their own.
