Five years ago Penelope Zanelli took her daughter Anna and escaped the abusive marriage to her husband, Congressman Zanelli. Her new persona is that of Widow Abigail August, a telephone psychic, and her young daughter Kate. Abigail has learned to let go of her fear and has finally begun to think she is ready to start over with a new relationship. Abby begins to open up but soon attracts the attention of a stalker through the psychic hotline.
Matthew Layton thought he had the easiest job, but nothing could be further from the truth. He is hired to locate the runaway wife of Congressman Roman Zanelli so that he can divorce her and get his child back. If the duo is the runaway mother and child, then the situation is wrong and with the stalker, it is about to become complicated.
Abigail is on the verge of trusting someone for the first time in 5 years. Little does she know that Matt is the very enemy from which she has been hiding. Matthew must decide if he is going to turn Abigail and Kate over to Roman or shelter them through the storm.
An amazing story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to hate Matthew for doing his job, but he is such a sweet character. Judi McCoy is a talented author who takes the reader to the edge of suspense and leaves them hanging until the end. The situation created by the author is so realistic that it can and does happen to normal people. Ms McCoy is a talented suspense writer who pens an outstanding tale. I was absolutely thrilled at the ending.
