A MATTER AMONG MEN
Erotic Contemporary Romance
Rating: 4 Cups
Jack Dawson remembers Darlene as a young girl. He would chase after her in hopes of making her belong to him one day, yet she cannot recall him.
Darlene gained her experience in the bedroom thanks to Finn McClanahan. When Jack comes to work on the ranch, she is surprised when he claims she belongs to him.
Darlene and her sister, Kimbrell, are left to care for the ranch after the death of their parents. While Kimbrell stays busy with some of the cowboys, Darlene has been practicing with Finn, as she runs the ranch. She only hopes Finn does not spread any rumors. When Jack goes to work at the ranch, he is surprised Darlene does not recognize him. He has thought about her for twenty years. She was the love of his life but Darlene thought he was dead. She wants him desperately but Jack informs her that he wants it all and plans to take it. Finn refuses to share Darlene and wants Jack to leave. As the inferno between Jack and Darlene intensifies, he refuses to allow Finn to come between the woman he loves, ever.
A Matter Among Men is highly erotic and burning in heat. The sizzle is not only in the bedroom but in the middle of the conflict between Finn and Jack. I thought Ms. Blaine did an excellent job in the way she describes the sisters and what has transpired in their lives since their parents decease. The ordeal with Jack, Finn, and Darlene is a nice twist in the plot and one I never expected. This scorching read simmers with hot erotic pleasures at every turn. Both characters have lost much, and the ache is deep. The way Ms. Blaine allows the characters to come to terms with events is wonderfully written.
