Catherine Martin is getting married, but is it to the right man?  In an age of arranged
marriages, she has no choice but to follow along with her parents’ wishes.  She wants
someone else, not the elderly gentleman who has been like an uncle to her all her life.
She wants his son, instead.

Nicholas Fielding is the eldest of the aging duke’s three sons. He knows his duty is to
obey his father. But in the case of his father’s  marriage to Catherine; his body, heart,
and soul all rebel.  How can he reconcile his growing feelings for the woman who will
soon be his stepmother?

Catherine is practically betrothed to the aging duke. However, it is his son that she is
drawn to against her will.  Nicholas feels the same way, and the couple are pulled
deeper into what could become a scandalous affair if the townsfolk ever found out.
There is also the mystery of her mother’s death.  Now others are dying, and Catherine is
implicated.  Is their love strong enough to withstand what fate throws at them?

This book drew me in from the beginning. At first, I was grinding my teeth and growling
at the computer monitor, but soon enough I got swept away by the passion between the
two lead characters.  Added into the mix is a murder mystery that keeps you guessing
until the very end.  I highly recommend this for anyone that likes mystery with their
romance.
