Isabella Jamieson is traveling home to her family’s ranch just outside Banana, Australia when she meets a young man also traveling in that same direction. What she does not know at the time is Matt is looking for her Neighbors the Kavanaghs. But even though Matt seems intriguing and handsom there are things about him that Isabella must learn before she can truly love him.

Matthew Jones was born an illegitimate child to an upper class woman, and was raised by her family’s coachman and his wife. He’s searching for his biological mother in Australia. So he travels all the way from Devon, England to Banana, Australia to meet his mother and discover things about himself that he never knew before. Along the way he meets Bella and is instantly attracted to her.

The attraction grows between Bella and Matt until neither can deny the passion between them. One lonely night while caught in a rain storm they act upon the feelings between them. But Matthew is not ready to settle down and have a family so he leaves Bella in search of brighter opportunities. But when it looks like Bella might be with child, Matthew is brought back to her by his father. Can Bell forgive Matt for leaving her and can Matt realize what he is searching for has been right in front of him all along?

A Hidden Legacy is a nice story, but seems to be lacking something. Over all it is well written and the story line flows well. The characters are well thought out and generally you really start to like Bella and Matt. But some where in the middle of the book it just kind of looses you as a reader and does not find you again until near the end. I am not sure what happens but if you keep reading it does pick up again.
