Cozy Paranormal Mystery/Romantic Suspense
Rating: 4 Cups
Shannon Delaney has been hired to write a brochure for the Blackthorne House Bed and Breakfast. She is impressed with the mansion but feels it might be haunted. After seeing ghosts, she wonders are they real, or only in her dreams?
Zach Zavala is in the architectural restoration business. He is also a detective, curious about the history of Blackthorn Mansion. When Shannon and Alex inform him about their investigation, he eagerly joins in the search.
Shannon is glad to be greeted by her favorite nun, Sister Rosario Santiago, at Blackthorn Mansion. After Rosario begins telling her the history of the house, Shannon had no idea, a deceased magician, a chest, and a journal would open up a Pandora box syndrome. Shannon feels it is haunted. Eric Blackthorn was a magician that just vanished, which sparks interest in Shannon. She meets Alex Blackthorne, a direct relative to Eric, and they become cozy while researching the mystery within the house. While compiling the brochure and exploring the house, she meets Zach, who is eager to be part of the team. As the past and present unfold, Shannon must face a bigger decision; go with Alex or Zach.
A Ghost of a Chance is an engaging read. There are many paranormal events that keep the story moving at a good pace. Elizabeth Eagan-Cox pens a tale with two handsome men eager to help Shannon in any way. I love Sister Rosario’s character and how she helps to make the story enjoyable. Ms. Eagan-Cox has done great research in the making of this book. She incorporates different elements to help make it more believable. I like the way she does the ghost-like effects, of the past and the present. With a well-rounded cast, the story captivates the audience and keeps them guessing.
