Kari Montgomery is a history professor who reluctantly agrees to be the maid of honor in her favorite cousin’s wedding despite recently experiencing a failed engagement. Rushing in a rain storm, she runs into a solid wall of muscle, accident or divine providence?
Pastor Randolph Patrick Steele is that wall of muscle Kari runs into so when she asks for directions to his church, he gladly gives them along with his umbrella. Having heard of Kari from her cousin Emily, Randy is amused to meet her under such coincidental circumstances. The wedding he himself will officiate over just got more interesting.
When a rumor circulates around the campus of Kari’s and Pastor Randy’s engagement, they are both surprised and dismiss it when ever possible. Kari finds Alice, Randy’s sister in great distress over her father’s heart attack and tries to comfort her and that is how Randy finds the pair. Alice asks Kari to accompany her on the long drive home and she agrees, unsure of Randy’s reaction to her presence.
Ms. Cindy K. Green has written a sweet, modern, romance with good old fashioned values and morals being the important ingredient. The hero and heroine show all of the anxiety that comes with relationships of the heart. The premise of this story is believable and very well written, making the emotions of the characters realistic. The underlying causes of some of the characters actions make the storyline all that more credible. I would recommend this story to any reader who wants a sweet likable romance.
