Ariella de Warenne is an independent woman who often does what she likes. Her favorite thing is reading and learning about pretty much anything she can get her hands on. Traveling is something else she loves to do, but she is always near family. Her family supports her in most of her adventures but she is getting the strongest of hints that she needs to settle down. Ariella will only do so if there is love between her and her intended. Seeing another gypsy man makes her curious about him. But she must not let her body guide her too much.

Viscount Emilian St. Xavier knows he had a gypsy mother and an English father, but he is determined to do things right by running the estate better than his father ever did. Yet no matter what female he spends time with, it is never enough for him. It feels like something is missing, until he sees a young woman who visits the gypsy camp. He cannot take his eyes off her and the looks she is giving him makes him question what is there.

Ariella believes she has finally fallen in love. The problem is that the man who is her love does not seem to feel the same. Although feelings run high, Ariella cannot get the man to admit that there is more between them for even one night. Emilian is so angry about the way his gypsy family is treated he decides to ruin someone because of it. The girl he ends up choosing does not respond the way he hopes she will. Instead, she keeps coming back for more and Emilian is shocked. She is strong and when she weeps, it gets him right in the heart. Emilian just wants to run away from it all. He does not want to hurt her in any way since he cannot see how anything is possible for them at all. Could he love her or, is it all just a dream?

The tangle of the emotions in this book left me breathless. The raw passion was completely unbridled and it kept me going. Ariella is a woman who knows what she wants and will fight for it! Ms. Joyce writes to please. I would love to see how the other people in Ariella’s family deal with the fated love in their lives. This is one series that is enjoyable even by this book. I am going to have to go back and read the others now.
