| ABOUT MONDAY SIDNEY LAINE ALLAN ISBN #1-4199-0250-4 September 2005 Cerridwen Press http://www.cerridwenpress.com E-book $5.95 156 pages Paranormal Romance Rating: Jenny Brown is just an average girl in every way. She has always secretly envied Monica Starke, the woman who has it all: money, looks, and handsome boyfriends. When Jenny makes a wish on a star, she finds out that walking a mile in someone else’s shoes is not as easy as it looks, even if the shoes are Manolo Blahniks. Jason Foxx is fed up with his girlfriend, Monica. Not only is she manipulative, self- centered, and shallow; but she also sold his antique coin collection for pennies. Why is it that when she turns up on his doorstep after he has her car repossessed, does he see her in a totally different light? She seems almost human. Jenny is tired of being average. Although she feels silly doing it, she makes a wish on a falling star before going to bed. The next morning she finds out that somehow she and Monica have switched bodies. Unfortunately for Jenny, her co-worker’s life is not all it is cracked up to be. When she meets Jason, she feels a sudden attraction to him, but he knows he would never look at her twice if she had her old body back. What follows is a funny romp about body switching and looking beneath the surface to find the real person inside. I laughed out loud many times during the course of this book, in all the right places, of course. The romance between Jason and Jenny as Monica was sweetly romantic. He was intrigued by the changes in her, and she was blown away by his good looks and charm. The anticipation of the unknown kept me engrossed from beginning to end. I liked how it showed both sides of the coin without painting Monica as a total villain of the story just a real person with problems.
