Joshua Ashford has led what some could call a charmed life. He has gotten out of more
scrapes than can be accounted for, with sheer luck. However, when he lies down at
night to sleep, one face haunts his dreams. He calls her Angel, and she always seems
to be there when he needs her. Imagine his surprise when he meets her face to face.
Kaelin’s empathy for the plight of others lands her into heavenly hot water, earning her
the label of maverick. She saves Joshua again and wants him to return the favor by
saving a dying woman, and her unborn child, one of her friend’s charges. What this
couple never expected is to be hit by a thunderbolt of true love themselves. Is love a
place where even angels fear to tread?
This story is very sweet and the characters are funny, smart, and quirky. The angels are
even more messed up than the humans. The interaction between the two main
characters, especially in the intimate scenes, fairly crackles with heat. I felt the
introduction of the villain is too abrupt, making me know who it is well before the end.
However, this did not detract from the surprise that does come at the end.
